Sound the Trumpets, Beat the Drums pays tribute to the outstanding contribution that the bands made to the British way of life during the 20th Century. It starts with a review of some of the major events, from the funeral of Queen Victoria in 1901 to the 100th birthday celebrations for Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in 2000, features the great annual events such as Trooping the Colour, the Lord Mayor's Show and Remembrance Sunday, and ends with a brief account of the International Military Music Society.
